Career Gear’s Newest Board Members

We are so pleased to have two new board members supporting the work of Career Gear. Welcome to the team Michael and Kereena.

Michael Andrews, Founder and CEO- Michael Andrews Bespoke

A self proclaimed “recovering corporate attorney,” Michael donned a suit and tie to a law firm every day for nearly eight years. When he could not find off-the-rack suits cut to his liking, he began having his clothes custom made. After trying over a dozen tailors without finding exactly what he wanted, he decided to open his own tailor shop.

Since doing his homework had become second nature – Michael received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech, where he was a prestigious President’s Scholar, and his JD/MBA from Northwestern Law School and the Kellogg School of Management – he began taking tailoring classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology to understand professional tailoring techniques first-hand.

In 2006, Michael Andrews Bespoke was launched with the vision of crafting high-end yet approachable menswear with a modern flare. Since then, Michael Andrews has become New York’s premier custom clothier and has been named to “Best of” lists by New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Bloomberg Markets, AM New York and JW Marriott Magazine.

Kereena Blake, Vice President Investment Bank Technology & Operations- JPMorgan Chase

Kereena is a Vice President in J.P. Morgan Chase’s Investment Bank Technology & Operations division. Kereena has over a dozen years of experience working in the Finance industry to drive operational change and improvements. Her experience includes companies such as GE Capital, UBS and CAI (a private equity firm).
Driven by her passion to make a difference, in 2006 Kereena formed Caribbean Footsteps, a not-for-profit group focused on providing access to school supplies and sponsoring tuition fees for disadvantaged schools and children in Jamaica, her birthplace. Kereena is drawn to Career Gear because she herself grew up underprivileged, and she is eager to “pay-it-forward” in helping disadvantaged men get back on their feet.

Kereena Blake holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut, and an MBA from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business. In addition, Kereena is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Perhaps most importantly, she is a very proud wife & mom of three.
