Career Gear Houston was founded on the principle that clothing and personal appearance are essential pieces of the job-preparation puzzle and contribute significantly to making a positive first impression. But, professional work clothing is also a significant expense. 
 
As a member agency, your clients will receive a clothing outfit specific for their interview and/or employment needs. On the following pages, we invite you to discover all of the resources and services your clients will receive during their appointment at our organization. 

How to start the Referral Process

To begin our partnership, please request a Member Agency Application form from our offices at 713.778.9959 to start the approval process and then:

1. Complete and return the Member Agency Application Form and wait for approval
    by Career Gear staff.

2. Once approved, you will receive a letter along with a Memorandum of 
    Understanding (MOU). The MOU will need to be signed and returned to
    our offices. The Member Agency Application Form and MOU only need 
    to be filled out one time for each organization.
    Once an organization is approved, it allows anyone within that organization
    to refer clients to Career Gear Houston.

3. When your organization is approved and signed all the documents listed in
    steps 1 and 2, you will be ready to send clients to Career Gear Houston by 
    faxing the completed Client Referral Form to Career Gear Houston at
    713.778.9986.  This form must be completed for each appointment for this client. 
    Please note: You will also need to be a non-profit organization and supply us
    with your 501(c) (3) upon signing of the MOU.

Client Eligibility Requirements

All clients must be male, 18 years or older, and referred by an approved Career Gear Houston Member Agency that provides job-training, job-placement, or employment service provider (ESP). Men are eligible for Career Gear Houston’s services if they have completed job-readiness training and are:

? Unemployed and have a scheduled interview for a job in the next several weeks;
? Unemployed and are actively attending job fairs and job-readiness events.

*All clients must be referred by an approved Member Agency and must
  have an appointment to receive services.


Services and Matrix

1. When your organization is approved, you will be ready to send your qualified male 
    clients to their first appointment by faxing the completed Client Referral Form to 
    Career Gear Houston at 713.778.9986. This form must be completed for each 
    appointment for each client.

2. Within 48 hours of receiving the Client Referral Form, Career Gear Houston 
    will notify your organization of the client’s eligibility for service.
    If client is eligible, Career Gear Houston will schedule him for the next 
    available appointment based on the appointment times noted on the form and 
    contact your organization with a phone call, email, or faxed confirmation 
    indicating the date and time of the client’s appointment. 

3. Once client has sustained employment for at least 30 consecutive days, you 
    can refer your client back for an second appointment by completing and
    faxing another Client Referral Form to 713.778.9986.
