Interview Preparation and Counseling
Our clients are referred to us by 84 community and social service agencies when the candidate has completed a job training program and has a scheduled job interview. We work with him to review his resume, the environment and culture in which the interview will take place and offer specific tips and tools to help him overcome any potential obstacles.
Competition for employment is tougher than ever and good first impressions are essential. To this end, each Career Gear participant receives an entire interview-appropriate outfit and image consulting services. We work one-on-one with our clients in outfitting them with the appropriate business attire for this all-important interview. We provide a suit, dress shirt, tie, belt, shoes and an overcoat when available. We provide this with personal attention and service and provide only quality clothing.
More than 90% of the clothing we provide is donated by manufacturers and designers and is brand new, Ten percent is gently used clothing that has been donated by individuals and is in excellent condition.
In 2011, 1192 men received business attire and interview preparation and counseling in our New York office alone.
